This is ... nice. I don't know what it is, exactly, because I like it but I can't really connect with it that well. It's good but it leaves me cold, so I like it but I don't love it.

It's not my favorite song by Elton. I always thought it was kind of boring - then and now.
His follow-up to "Blues" was "Sad Songs (Say So Much") in the summer of '84, and I thought that was one of his better songs from the '80s.

Elton had a great group of singles in the 80s. They are all special to me. I loved this one since the first time I heard it --although Sad Songs is still a better song to me. Elton is one of my favorite artists ever. Solid discography

Funny what a bit of time and experience will do, as I now love this song and consider it a highlight of this period in his career.

Love this. He has had so many incredible songs, and even in his more down periods he would do a good song quite often.

HANDS DOWN my fave Elton John song by FAR!!! His best! My earliest memory of this song was being of a toddler/kindergarten age and gathering my stuffed animals and pretending they were singing along to this and with "Time After Time". lol This song really takes me back to those days.
