This is without a doubt a rap classic! Not only are the electronic beats and track production great, the rap style sounded really fresh for 1983. Another great feature of this song is that it featured meaningful lyrics at a time when most rap records were pretty frivolous. They rap about education, unemployment and other issues that resonated with people in poor communities back then. And, of course, who can forget Jason Nevins' 1997 remix (which I like even better than the original version)? 1983 Version: US Black Singles: #15 US Hot 100: - UK: - 1997 Version: US R&B/Hip-Hop: #90 US Hot 100: 113 Everywhere else: #1 :)

Run-DMC = greatness.
This is a good one, although I think "It's Tricky" will always be my fave of theirs.

I liked this one a lot! I prefer the Jason Nevins mix from '97 also. It was everywhere for quite a while after that.
