After many re-inventions with her career, during the late 80's, she experimented with Disco music and it led to a brief, but pretty successful period for her. She went for the successful Casablanca record label. Worked on with Bob Esty, "Take Me Home" ended up peaking at 2 on the Dance chart and on the then Black Singles chart and became a Paradise Garage classic. This brief but fruitful foray into the club arena set Cher up for a highly successful return in the mid 90's. Who could forget Cher as a viking? Classic. Here's some video of the song from her Farewell Tour youtube.com/watch?v=IaQrp8ATV3Y
This is one of my favorites from Cher's long career. It's such a feelgood song. The full extended mix from the 12" single is the best mix of this song.

Definitely not among my favorite Cher tunes, but it was her only Top 10 hit between 1975 and 1986 and easily the standout of that period.
The music video is hilariously bad.

I prefer the Sophie Ellis-Bextor cover of it more so, but still like Cher's too of course.

I'm not a Cher fan but this is one of her better songs. Ones that weren't overplayed or annoyed me.

I basically just now discovered this one due to the Luther Vandross connection. I like it a lot, Cher sounds great.

I like it.
This also crossed over to the R&B chart, peaking at #21.

Cher should have recorded more disco songs in the past few decades . she had success with Believe and now her Christmas song. this might be my favorite of them .
