From the fall of 1989, this song actually did better on the Hot 100 and R&R pop chart than the Romantics' version did. It was OK, but sounded a little too much like karaoke.

I like the instrumentation in this version, nice update of the original (which is still better, of course).

Morales' version got to #28 on the Hot 100 in 1989, that's 21 notches higher than the original Romantics version of the tune from 1980

The Morales remake was awful! The Romantics' original from 1979 or 1980 is far superior. That's probably why it receives all the recurrent airplay.

I like 5 Seconds of Summer's version. Seacrest played a drop of Morales's version when introing this.
