I couldn't find a thread on this.
Anyway, it was a big-time AC hit in the mid 80s. It was OK.

it's cool... something play for days when you just wanna "chill".
i'm sure y'all already know this, but in case anyone doesn't the band's name is pronounced "doo-bley". ;)

Yep, I knew about the pronunciation! Back in 1986 the radio presenters including Casey Kasem said it differently. I have always written the names and titles of ech song that made AT40 based on the way it sounded because I was not in an area where they sold Billboard magazine on the stands.
I think the song also recieved some airplay on Urban radio stations just as well. Very jazzy and mellow this is a great piece of music.

Sounded very different for pop radio in 1986 and became a deserved hit.

Speak of the devil! I heard that song in Stop and Shop the other day! When it first came on, I was like what is this song I kind of remember it! I first thought it was Under the Milky Way which is another amazing song It hardly gets played anywhere but I did hear it.

I hear this one on Jack FM every now and then. I love it. It was definitely among the most underrated songs of the 80s.

i'm sure y'all already know this, but in case anyone doesn't the band's name is pronounced "doo-bley". ;) I was surprised to hear this on AT10 this weekend, since it seems to get most of its airplay on smooth jazz stations. And yes, coming out of the song, Casey said, "It's spelled like 'double' but it's pronouced 'doo-blay'." :)

I like this song. Haven't heard it on the radio in years. R&R chart run: 36-32-26-22-19-18-23-29-off.

Did Rick Dees and/or Dick Clark pronounce the name of the band right?

This is actually one of my favorite 80’s synthy slow grooves. I find it really haunting and I LOVE it for that. I didn’t realize it wasn’t that known/remembered in America.
