This was the first instrumental to hit the Top 40 in the 90s. And I believe it was Dave Stewart's first hit outside of Eurythmics.

wasn't there a movie "inspired" by this song?? anyway... great "make out music". always struck me as the kind of song you'd hear in a zalman king movie. heh heh.

Love this song. It's the only instrumental #1 on my personal chart. Dave A. Stewart has always been a genius. And her album Saxuality is good.

I like it. It was originally released in 1989 (peaked at #6 in the UK in early 1990) but didn't take off in the US until mid-1991. In addition to its #11 Hot 100 peak, it went #6 AC and even hit the R&B chart (#60).

I liked this song as I often heard it on now-defunct smooth jazz 95.5 WNUA when I was younger. One of the best smooth jazz instrumental tunes.

For some reason I keep calling this song "Candy Was Here." Gives me dyslexic moments.
The song is actually pretty good.
