This was Tommy's first Top 40 hit. It hit the mid-20s in the spring of 1989. I liked it better than "I'll Be Your Everything."

I love this song. It was one of my personal faves in 1989. It always reminds me of my friend Marlene (last post near the bottom of the screen), because the song started playing in my mind as she was crying on my shoulder after telling me about her grandkids who she very seldom gets to see. Too bad the song petered out in the mid-20s. It deserved to get at least Top Ten. Alas, it wasn't something by Bobby Brown, Paula Abdul, or the Fine Young Cannibals, so...

Yeah, this was a helluva lot better than "I'll Be Your Everything", which was essentially a bad New Kids On The Block ballad. The peak positions for these two songs should have been switched.
