The awful duet from hell? Meh, all I have to say is "What was Donna thinkin?" >:(
That said, the Jocelyn Brown & Kym Mazelle version isn't as bad though. Strangely their version never charted in the US(though they've charted alot as seperate artists) though made #13 in the UK.

I liked it when Tina Arena was featured on the duet in Donna's VH1 Live and More: Encore!

Just as the subtitle says; ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Donna & Babs...man what a odd combo. I couldn't believe that this song EVER became a hit. What WAS Donna thinking?!!

Never much cared for this song... Eddie Murphy did an amusing parody of it back in 1983 or so (singing in the voices of Buckwheat and Richard Simmons).

Yeah, this song starts out as a sappy song, and then gets worse when it suddenly breaks into a disco beat.
LOL, I remember those Eddie Murphy as Buckwheat parodies. I remember the one where he did "Buckwheat Sings The Classics". Among them were:
Unce, tyce, fee tines a mady Wookin' pa nub in ah duh wong paces A die danna diba dan ona dy eegah venny davee eyeeee Oona panoona banka I'm da baba of da bill bigaro bigaro (Translated, that's "Three Times A Lady", "Looking For Love", "Bette Davis Eyes" (aka "? ? ? ? ?"), "Paloma Blanca". Don't remember what the last one was - I think it was something that Alfalfa sang in "Little Rascals", something like "Barber of Dabill".

LOL... I loved when the "?? ?? ?" came up on screen as the song title for "Bette Davis Eyes". :)

I also love the extended 12" version of No More Tears...clocks in at over 11 minutes, if I'm not mistaken. I was seven years old when it became a hit.

Donna said she passed out while recording this due to that note she has to hold for a long time.

Wow! I didn't think this was going to have such negative reactions!! This was a SMASH! One of the few diva/star duets that have ever reached #1. But I can understand that it all depends on the preferences of the listeners. This is Barbra Streisand we are talking about, with all her theatrics, drama, Broadway, soap opera style in her singing. One of few occasions she went the Disco route, with another powerhouse vocalist like Donna Summer. To me it is like a telenovela turned into a Disco song. Awesome!! LOL Another #1 on my personal chart. And I LOVE blasting it driving in my car full speed. I don't have this version on my iPod, but I do have Diana deGarmo's to enjoy it in a small doses

This isn't one of my favorite Donna tracks, I must say. But it was an undeniable event record.

I didn't expect someone to make a thread for the song only to tear it. I started loving Donna when I was two in 79 so I remember it coming out on her "On The Radio" GH's double album. It's was on Bab's current album as well at that time. It was extremely catchy, fast after the regular slow Donna intro. Looking back I guess it's lyrics are a little cheesy but it doesn't bother me.

Can't say it's my most favorite, but I thought they sounded awesome together and the song is pretty relatable. It's all about that girl power!
