I hated it at the time, but now I think sellout accusations are kind of ridiculous. By 2003, Jewel was an out and out pop artist. Despite the fact that this song was so big, it seemed to also signal the end of her commercial career, ironically enough. It's more fun to listen to than most of her prime stuff, although it does rip off "Objection" musically.

I do not see any similarities between Jewel and Shakira's song And I know both songs very well

Not a Jewel fan, but I've always really loved this song. Great melody and lyrics.

It doesn't really rip off "Objection", but they were both produced by Lester Mendez. I liked the sound switch, kinda like Lewis Martinee doing Pet Shop Boys' "Domino Dancing" or Andre Cymone doing Adam Ant's "Room At The Top".

Honestly, my favorite song from Jewel tbh and the video itself was great as well.

I liked this at the time, but don't ever really revisit it except for the remixes. Being a dance music fan, the remixes really were fire. Markus Schulz and Gabriel Dresden did the damn thing.

I love the video for this! Especially the part where they made the video looks like a TRL segment, with the "viewer" message at the bottom of the screen saying something like "Jewel's music is much better now that she dances" LOL

It is maybe also the song/video that I put on my FB wall the most! LOVE LOVE JEWEL & INTUITION! to quote my old self this still stands
My signature was a lyric from Intuition:
You look at me but you're not quite sure Am I 'it' or could you get more

This just reminds me of Gillete razor blades. So true!
This was a great bop. I remember they played this alot on Miami's Y 100.7 station back then.

Gillete razor blades come to mind when it comes to this song, which was a departure from what Jewel was normally known for. Lame but there were far worse 2000s pop songs out there.

Ah, the joke that no one got - it was meant to be satire and people thought Jewel had actually sold out.
I do love the song but I can see why so many shredded her as a sellout at the time, especially in comparison to Liz Phair going "pop" and getting a hit with "Why Can't I" shortly before this.
