I didn't like this song at all when it was on the charts back in early 1988. I can stomach a listen every once in awhile, but it's not something I'd want to hear all the time.

Roger Troutman was a very talented guy, and Zapp's artistic merits are sometimes underrated. Those vocoder voices just tickle my fancy somehow, not to mention the undeniable groove their music had. They were just great at their best.

This is one of my favorite slow jams ever, for every reason in the world and no reason at all. Right up there behing "Breakin' My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)."
Just a great song. Roger was definitely ahead of his time, R.I.P.

Everytime I hear this song I think about Love and Basketball because it was playing when Monica and Q was at the Spring Dance. He was telling her I want to be your man with his eyes. I love this song and I lover Roger`s voice. To me, it`s one of the best songs of the 80s.

Love this. I discovered it (along with many other R&B hits) last year when I was on a total 80s R&B kick. Great jam.

Don't really care for this one as I prefer "Computer Love" as Zapp/Roger's best downtempo/R&B love song. I knew this was a big R&B hit back in 1988 but didn't know it was a big pop hit too. I heard this song on the urban stations (WGCI, V103) during their quiet storm hours and don't recall the AC stations (Lite FM 93.9, 100.3) playing it when I was younger.
