This is my favorite song from 1980! It was a #1 smash in R&R on both the pop and Adult Contemporary charts. I don't care for the live version too much, but the studio version is fantastic! My mom used to have the 45-single.

This is such a beautiful song.
I recently discovered this through the Circuit Mix which used the studio version for its vocals and instrumental. It was awesome.

The song was probably a Long Distance Dedication 2 out of every 3 weeks on American Top 40 when I was a regular listener.

I absolutely adore Bette Midler as an entertainer, but I've never been a fan of most of her hit material. Love this though. It's a very simple yet beautiful song.
