Who knows this song? What group was she from? Has she made any music since this song in 2000?

I do, it's a great song. Veruca Salt. Tonight... is her only solo album to date, but she has stayed busy since. Check www.ninagordon.com for the latest. :)

I remember this song pretty well. It was very underrated at CHR/Pop. Had it been released three or four years earlier, it probably would have done well.

This really was a great song. I forgot all about it too, so thanks for bringing it back up. It should have gone at least Top 5 Hot AC and Top 10 Pop but.

It was good, liked the follow-up (Now I Can Die) a bit more.

This was a very underrated song. When I first heard the new Sarah McLachlan song, I thought I was listening to the Nina Gordon song. It does sound like something Sarah would do.

I hadn't heard this song before so I downloaded it. It really blew me away, I think it's great.

That's why I said that it would have done better had it been released around, say, 1997 or so, since that was around the time Sarah had reached her prime on the charts, plus that type of music was doing well on the charts. Ahh, those were the days, before hip-hop and rap came along and ruined everything >:(

It's a great song. Should have done much better, but it was popular at a rather musically competitive time. I occasionally hear it still on radio, but I'd like to hear it a lot more

I really liked this song when it came out. I can remember WKZN playing this song just about every 2 hours for several months. After that I was completely sick of it. Now I'll give it an occassional listen.

This song was gorgeous. So much better than what Louise did with the 3rd "Veruca Salt" album. I don't understand why pop didn't play this a lot more.

Nick, the real reason I think this was ignored when it was out, was because the pop chart was limited in actual good songs in 2000, and they thought it would be boring, although I think it's excellent. I remember radio really being shit, the more I tried listening, although this did well on my personal chart, and was at least a Hot A/C hit. Gets an [blue]A+[/blue] by me.
BTW, I think it's funny how everywhere I look to see reviews of VS's last album was negative.

this is one of my favorite songs of all time. it was the best song on nina gordon's solo album. although the cd was very good and well put together. i can't understand why she didn't catch on. now i can die was also a very good song although not as good imo. but where i live i heard this song a lot. i guess my station was one of few that played the song. and i was surprised because usually we don't get that type of artist on a chr/pop station

I loved this song!!! How did this song do on Hot AC and Pop exactly? I know my pop and Hot AC station played both "Tonight and the Rest of My Life" and "Now I Can Die."

Β· I fell in love with this song the very first time I heard it! After the first verse or so, I taped it off the radio. KZZP in Phoenix (Top 40 at the time) used to play it.
Β· Rick Dees used to play it on his syndicated morning CHR show.
Β· One of my Top 5 songs of 2000, along with Amber's "Sexual."

Interesting that this topic be resurrected now, as the song is currently used in the ads for the new movie, "The Notebook".

I heard it a couple of weeks ago at Eckerd's! (Now they're CVS.) Guess this counts as "obscure songs you hear at the store"... :)

I heard this song (my favorite of 2000) at the gym again today.
It's just amazing to me how such a beautiful song can come on, yet no one in the gym reacts to it. It's just like there's nothing coming through the speakers at all.

Yes yes yes, I remember this song. I really liked it when it was out. It peaked at #10 on the Hot AC chart!!! Hurray! Yeah, this is a great song... Spent 6 weeks at #2 on my personal favs list... Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" (my #1 song of 2000) stopped her from getting to #1... I still get to hear it thanks to the piped in music at work... they play it maybe once every 20 hours or so even today... :)
