Lisa Coleman and Wendy Melvoin were members of Prince's Revolution but, after Prince let go of them in 1986, they formed their own group. They didn't really experience much success but they put out this excellent track in 1987. It hit #56 on the Hot 100. It's really underrated. I feel like if Prince had put it out, it would have gone Top 10. Recently, they worked on Gwen Stefani's solo debut.

Where did this peak on the R&B charts? Must have gone top 20 there.

I'm a bit shocked that this didn't go Top 40 in the U.S. or the UK. Their solo material was on par with Prince's imho. Plus it sounded similar to the material on Parade and the material from Prince's latest album Sign O the Times. It's obvious they had a major influence on his overall sound. Ironically enough this is said to be written about him, either way this is an amazing song and most of their 80's and early 90's material in general is pretty darn good.
