Many people don't know that the album "Ten Summoner's Tales" spawned four singles. This was the fourth, which was released after "Nothin' 'Bout Me". I don' t think it was released to Top 40 radio, however, and I think mainly small market AC stations played the song, since it charted on the Gavin AC chart, but not on R&R.
It was a very hypnotic song and I feel that it was very underrated. I loved the lyrics in the chorus:
I know that the spades are the swords of the soldiers I know that the clubs are weapons of war I know that diamonds mean money for this art But that's not the shape of my heart.
Unsurprisingly, this was my favorite song from the Ten Summoner's Tales album.

yep... one of my favorites from that album as well. wasn't this used in a movie starring sherilyn fenn or something? the sugababes used it as a sample for one of their singles too, i think.

I think Monica sampled this song on a track off of her "The Boy is Mine" album.

GREAT song. I'm a big Sting fan and I didn't know it was released as a single. It certainly isn't pop radio friendly, but I'm surprised it didn't do better at AC...

Well, I'm not sure if it was actually released as a "single", per se, but it did get radio airplay, which is what I meant.

Looking at this thead "Shape Of My Heart" - ... as a new thread title on the main page of the board I swear, I was READY to post how sweet and catchy the song was....until I clicked the link and found it was Sting's "Shape of My Heart".

I like this song and love each song I know that samples it: "Take Him Back" - Monica "Emotional" - Carl Thomas "Rise and Fall" - Craig David (feat. Sting)

Sting) Sugababes also sampled it for their "Shape", released in March 2003; Craig David's version charted just two months later, in May of the same year.

I LOVE THE SUGABABES VERSION. I usually hate sappiness and mainstream balladry, but their exquisitely rendered vocals and palpable sincerity make the interpretation work beautifully.

This song has become a staple thanks to the samples. I love it.
