Is anyone else acquainted with this artist?
She had a few NYC-area dance hits in the 1980s: All Night Passion, Too Turned On, Baby Talk, Stargazing. A few pop flops later followed ifrom the late 80s into 1990: Into My Secret, Do You Dream About Me (from "Mannequin"), and Bounce Back.
Her songs are played fairly regularly on KTU and PLJ, especially "Too Turned On." Madonna once called her the leading clone of the Madonna-wannabes.
I don't think any of her songs made it to R&R and 3 or so scratched the Hot 100. However, she did maintain some level of popularity, I think.

I'll have to post specific songs. I did however replay "Bounce Back" and "Into My Secret" in 2001, and they made my year-end chart as well, I have it recorded on tape w/ my voice. I saw the video to "Into My Secret" in the UK when they were playing the Hot 100 new entries on Europe's SKY channel (based in Holland). "Baby Talk" sounds more pre-crossover radio more than any of her songs did. That song in particular not only faired well in the clubs but it somehow sratched the surface of the R&B charts as well. I have all three of these hits, thanks for posting! :)

Oh I remember her stuff! I thought "All Night Passion" was a pretty good song. It still gets a little airplay every so often. The college 80s's freestyle shows here play it at least once a week. I picked up the whole Tommy Boy Records compilation The Perfect Beats (Volume 3) just so I could get this particular song. It was on there in its album version. Little did I know that this singer had a whole album available. I had heard that this song had been a minor hit in dance clubs and this track did okay overseas. I totally see how Alisha had been labelled as a Madonna-wannabe. Her voice was similar sounding in some areas, and the energy of the track, but that's where the similarity ends. The track "All Night Passion" has been remixed and re-released as a full-blown house track. I forget who remixed it, but it's like the first or second track on this one mix compilation. If I find it, I'll post a link to it. I posted a link to the file of "All Night Passion" so those who have forgotten it or just would like to hear it can check that out. rapidshare.de/files/789644/13_-_All_Night_Passion.mp3.html
