This song has sort of a Jesse Johnson feel to this. You might say that this performer and her group are a protegee` of Jesse's. They've churned out this hit back in the fall of '85. It went like in the top 10 urban and nearly climbed within the top 20 in pop (I could be wrong on the accuracy). However after their one-hit appearance, they've disappeared from musical existance. Whatever happened to them?

Yeah, I remember this song. I liked it. On R&R it went 39-32-27-24-23-28. It hit number 24 on the Billboard chart. Yes, too bad they didn't have more hits.

I just played that song like a month ago. You canfind the single version on Napster. Anyway I remember that the song hit number one on the Urban charts according to Radio & Records. Their follow-up single also made the top 25 Urban chart, "Affection". Then they came back in 1987 with their minour hit "Blueberry Gossip".

I like this song. The beginning (before the music actually starts) is very odd, though.

I like this song. The beginning (before the music actually starts) is very odd, though. Yeah it is, and when I played for my employees they just died laughing, wondering what the heck that was.

I think (if memory serves me right), Prince did have something to do with her work...

Love this, but "Gone In Love" has to be my favorite song from their self titled album.

A jam, one of those hooks that randomly pops up in my head quite often. The parent album is fun all around and their second album also has some gems.
Margie Cox (i.e. Ta Mara) has had an interesting shoulda/coulda/woulda type of career. This group never quite took off, she has multiple unreleased albums with Prince, etc. Still a staple of the Minneapolis music scene though, performing regularly.
