This brilliant album, Hotwired, came out in 1990 by the Scottish band Soup Dragons. I had the tape, wore it down to the threads and got a new one. Wore that one down too. Got the CD.
Divine Thing was the lead single, but it didn't get played that much on radio. Shame. Everyone I knew back then loved this album.
Divine Thing was the theme song to some sex show like Loveline, wasn't it? I remember hearing it every night and thinking what ever happened to this group? They were fn amazing.

I vaguely remember this song. But Casey mentioned it on AT20 awhile back when he was introducing another "Soup" act, Bowling For Soup.

Great song, as was their 1990 remake of the Rolling Stones' "I'm Free".

Divine Thing got to #35 on the Hot 100 in 1992 and and was less deserving than I'm Free when it was released as a single in 1990

Madchester anthems, indeed! Even if marginally so, and ignoring locale. The spirit is there.

Pretty good, though I also preferred "I'm Free" than "Divine Thing".
