(No quotation marks because otherwise it won't fit the title. ) One my my favorites from the 80s. A Pop #1 for 2 weeks late in the spring of '85.

My favorite song of 1985. There were some really horrible songs that year, but this one helped make up for it. I couldn't stand other number 1 hits from 1985 such as "A View To A Kill," "Raspberry Beret," and "Everytime You Go Away."

I really like it! Matchbox Twenty covered it on their 2003 tour. It seemed very appropos with the world situation at the time.

This is such an incredible song. I can never get enough of it. Pop music was so good in the 1980s.

Love it. Yet another 80s classic. I remember singing this at karaoke a couple of years ago.

"A View to a Kill" is not as good, but is still decent.

you gotta love this song . it has a great killer hook that makes you want to sing along with it plus as the title says "Everybody Wants To Rule The World".

One of the best songs of the 80s! Even though I've heard it 500 million times, I never get tired of it. That says a lot.

It was a great tune, except for the repetitive instrumental in the middle part of the song. That was the only annoying part.
I liked the remix versions too - including "Everybody Wants to RUN the World".

I love this song. Nas sampled it for his 2001 song "Rule".

It's got a fine shuffle beat, but it's not really my favorite TFF song (I prefer... Pale Shelter, Shout, Head Over Heels, Sowing the Seeds & Break It Down Again). In fact I'd easily take "A View to a Kill" and "Raspberry Beret" over this as far as #1 hits from its year.
