Her final major hit in 1989, peaking at #6 on the hot 100, and #7 CHR.
I love it. Great cover, one of her best vocals.

I am not a fan of Cyndi Lauper period. I don't think she is that great of a singer or performer. Hence, I can't say that I ever really liked this song.

I liked this song, as well as the follow-up, "My First Night Without You", which performed very poorly on the Hot 100. But U93 gave it moderate airplay for a few weeks.

I like this song a lot and have the single. I have the video on tape somewhere too. I was just disappointed that the song hit the Top 10 in Billboard but didn't make the year-end Top 100 of 1989.

I love this song... Roy Orbison also did a version of it, which was recorded before Cyndi Lauper's but wasn't released until 1992 or so.

I love this track, and its infinitely better than Celine's hackfest as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not a Cyndi Lauper fan, but I love this song. I think the lyrics and performance are great.
I can't stand Celine's version.

Roy Orbison's version is very good (A-). This version is okay (C+) Celine's is bad (D)

It's a good song, although not her best in '89. However when I heard Celine Dion's version, I gagged and nearly hacked out an artery. There was a country version of this song -- only worse! I could'nt stand remakes that were drastically hacked and messed up. But overall I wasn't all too crazy about the song and it was her last ditch effort in the 80s to contribute in her string of hits.

Pinmoneky has a version too. I like Cyndi's best.

I liked Cyndi's version, but the video was too weird.

Roy Orbison's version is very good (A-). This version is okay (C+) Celine's is bad (D) I'm with this, except I'd bump Cyndi's up a little, and Celine's down a grade.

Cyndi's version is the best of the three, hands down. The urgency in those final money notes is stunning and hearing it live is even better.
If only this single's success translated into a successful third album for her.

Haven't listened to Orbison's version but would like to seek it out. I quite like this version of it and didn't really care for Celine's either. I don't think she even made the pop chart after that.

Cyndi's version is far superior to the others - it conveys actual yearning.

Love this song - Cyndi's version and Roy Orbison's version, but not Celine's which I think was a Chrysler advertisement. Roy's version is slightly better IMO. Given taht it came out after he died, it rings a bit melancholy to me. The Orbison video stars Jennifer Connelly and Jason Priestley, worth watching.
