This is her best single by far IMO. It's just a perfect pop song. The 12" mix is great too, i'll upload it if anyone wants it.
#11 in the UK, I think the same in the US.

I still love it. I don't like the album version as much as the original 7" single mix though.
Peaked at #4 on the Hot 100, #3 R&R CHR.

Great song. She was awesome. A friend and I were driving to an amusement park the day after seeing Janet in concert in 2001 and this song came on Backtracks USA and we rolled down the windows and blasted it. SO much fun!

This was a great song. I don't really listen to Debbie Gibson much anymore, but she occupies a special place in my heart, she was a major crush for me when I was 14. Her music was pretty good though, I always thought.

Good lord, you can tell the difference as well?! :o I feel the same way excatly what you said. I think I can hear more of the rhythmic drum beat on the single version than the album version. Even the 12 inch version sounds like the an extended version of the album version IMO. You have no idea how disappointed I was when I bought the cassette hearing the LP version versus the radio version, really. Anyhow this is in my top 10 all time greatest pop song.

Plus the LP version has this weird echoey effect on Debbie's vocals in the bridge (during the sax solo). I hate when I buy an album and the song I like is remixed differently (and this was the first single, for crying out loud).

Yeah (although it's really hard to tell with that clip). Here's a full version of the single.

I think this has held up the best of any of her songs. Still sounds great.

Was the 7" version ever available commercially?
If radio ever plays her, this is the "go to" song. Pretty much perfection!

I was a toddler/preschooler/kindergartener during the late 80s/early 90s, meaning that I don't have as much of a memory of NKOTB, Debbie Gibson, or Tiffany as I do of the Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and the rest of the teen pop acts of the late 90s/early 2000s. As for Debbie's music, this song is my favorite of hers. Nice late 80s dance-pop track.
