#16 Hot 100, #10 Pop.
This is my favourite Culture Club single. The diva vocals of Helen Terry mixed with Boy George's soulful lead work amazingly.

So that's who it was singing behind this hit I thought that it was Alison Moyet! Good song!

I had this one on vinyl (back when vinyl records were still in style). Great album!
BTW, for you younger ones, vinyl records were these big round things that...ah, screw it. You wouldn't understand.

Where did you get these statistics? According to Joel Whitburn's "Billboard Book Of Top 40 Hits", it peaked at number ten and, according to my collection of R&R charts, it reached number five.

I didn't like it. It's featured on Crap From The Past show of July 3, 1996. Fast forward to the 7:09 mark.

This song really hit a brick wall fast. R&R chart run: 39-34-24-13-8-7-5-6-11-25-off. Not one of my favorite songs.

Not one of their best hits, sort of average.

I like it but I prefer "Time (Clock of the Heart)," "Miss Me Blind," and "Victims" as far as their hits go.

I remember very little of the video which is weird because I was glued to MTV in 1983. 40 years ago this week, "Church Of The Poison Mind" debuted at #54 on the October 22, 1983 Billboard Hot 100. It was the highest debut of the week. Top Of The Pops 1983: Live in 1983: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_the_Poison_Mind#2 UK #17 Rock
