This was a real short song, only about 2 1/2 minutes if memory serves me, and it had a real short chart run on R&R. 36-35-34-off. This song stuck out from all the other tunes that were popular at the time. Seemed like it didn't quite belong. I thought it was great. Brent Bourgeois, had a solo hit in 1990 "Dare To Fall In Love."
Several years ago I said goodbye to my own sanity, but I don't, no I don't, no I don't mind at all.

Yeah, if the song was released sometime in the early 1970s, it would have probably been a Top Ten hit, since it sounds like many folk songs released around that time. I liked the song a lot, but apparently the public didn't. Whistlin' Pete, you're really hitting the nail right on the head with all these obscure songs from 1987. They all should have done better than they did, but back then, if it weren't Michael Jackson or horrific remakes of old 1960s songs, it wasn't good enough for the Top Ten.

I hated this song at the time, but much later grew to really like it.
They had an earlier hit called "Mutual Surrender" (peaked at #62 in 1986)... that one was really radio friendly, I don't know why it fizzled out so low.

This is still getting some play on the Muzak store channels. I replayed this two summers ago it reached my top 20. This is nice mellow song!

I remember the reaction that the people in my circles had at the time this one came out.Β They thought it was a Paul McCartney song. :)
It was a good song.Β I also liked CAN'T FEEL THE PAIN off the 1990 solo project.Β That song never saw the time of day as well.

I remember Rick Dees also making the Paul McCartney comparison. Up until that point I hadn't noticed it.

Now that you all have mentioned it, it does sound like Paul McCartney. The first time I heard IDMAA, I liked it from the start. An old AC station in town used to play it a lot.
