Love this! The transition from the verse to chorus is everything.

Really amazing song. I think I prefer She Hates Me but this is still in my top 2 favorites from them.

Definitely a modern rock classic. I much prefer this to "She Hates Me," mainly because of the tempo I guess.

Really amazing song. I think I prefer She Hates Me but this is still in my top 2 favorites from them. pretty sure this was me posting on my old acc lol. but this still stands, I love this song a lot, and I get why the band is hated but I've always loved their stuff.

This is probably my second favorite of theirs behind "Drift and Die" although I haven't heard either one in awhile so I'm not sure

In addition to the musicality and painstaking vocals, I love the subtle change in the verses. Verse 1:
“You could be my someone, you could be my seed, you know that I’ll protect you from all of the obscene.”
Verse 2:
“You could be my someone, you could be my seed, you know that I’ll will save you from all of the unclean.”
And when he is screaming during the chorus, he’s his conscience talking to himself. That’s why there’s layered vocals toward the end — the conscience battling with himself. The accountability that still hasn’t settled and placing the blame on everyone but him.
I don’t know. Something about this song grips me. I love everything about it, especially the lyrics. He sounds like an aching father who wishes he could do and be better, but is in standing in his own way. It’s real shit.
