For lack of a better definition to describe this 4:45 slice of Classic Rock genius, I kinda put it as a pop Lynyrd Skynrd or maybe something kinda sounding along the lines of Rossington Collins Band's "Don't Missunderstand Me" (well I'm listening to that now, and it doesn't really sound like that, but I dunno, I'm trying to use my imagination for a change.)
This is pure genius, in fact I must have done a topic for it once if not here then on R&R. A great bassline, rollicking drums, cymbals that crash in all the right places! "there ain't no way to see forever, it's only day to day I'm living for, like a wheel you keep me turning..."
The album this is from, Run For Your Life, is long out of print, in fact I had to shell out 20 bucks in the late 80s for a radio station promo copy of it that had a white label instead of the conventional A&M records logo. It was originally released and flopped on the pop charts in 1979, but was resurrected in 1981 and flopped again, stalling both times in the 70s or 80s on the chart. Tis a shame, this should be a classic rock staple and I implore someone, anyone to DL it and defy the high praise I am throwing its way. Great rock, great album. Probably an all time top 50 for me, tho know i'm beginning to think my top 50 has 123 songs in it!

.....do you have any idea why it charted twice?Β .... No clue... A&M gave the re-released single a new catalog number, so it was a true re-push on their part. Dunno why though. I don't even know if I've heard the song (the title/artist don't ring a bell).

This tune never made it pass #74 on the Hot 100 in its two chart runs in 1979 and 1982 but it did sound a lot like Little River Band and its a lost classic

WLS in Chicago picked up on this song when it was re-released in late summer, 1981 and it got tons of radio airplay there. It was a pretty good song. Sounded representative of the rock music played on AOR stations in the fall of 1981.

My preference from this band is a ballad called "It's Really You", which previously charted in 1978 (#86). I have the 45.
