This song pretty much put an end to the group Naked Eyes. It was the follow-up to their top ten hit "Promises, Promises." As far as I'm concerned "When The Lights Go Out" should have been a much bigger hit. It only hit number 35 on the R&R charts. It was a catchy tune. The music was perfect in this song, and it had a really good melody. Does anyone remember this one?

Sure do, shoulda been a contender. The whole album was pretty good disposable pop, I have that on vinyl. Not to be confused with Five's hit of several years ago.

Good tune, all their chart hits were very catchy.

Excellent song....drastically underrated and tragically overlooked. I thought it was quite a catchy song to say the least. Heard this song on the first listen back when it was released around '83 or '84. Come to think of it I always thought of this song that would've been a perfect soundtrack for a movie with a love scene in it. But to this day, I still love this song!

Can't say I'm familiar with this one -- I only know their big hit "Always Something There to Remind Me" -- but based on the clip it's not bad.

I love that synth sound that these guys created in their songs. I downloaded this song a few weeks ago, but I heard it again on AT40 12-24-1983 on terristrial radio this past weekend. As soon as I heard it again I put that sucker on "blast" (volume)! www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZTglcrF8v4
