It's okay. It's seems like she was going for "The Greatest Love Of All" for this.

This was a mess. They tried to push some of these adult contemporary ballads in her later years but her voice was shot. Her last good ballad was "I Learned From The Best". "One Of Those Days" was my favorite Just Whitney single.

Of the 3 singles from JW, this was the best. I have the DVD single as well.

This made American Top 20 AC, I think.
I hear this song at Walgreen's music intercom once in a while.
May Whitney R.I.P...

Eh, didn't really like this. I think we had to watch the dvd single once in choir class, during my sophomore year when the song was released.

Not a fan of this one in its original version, but I really liked the Thunderpuss remix. They managed to make this listenable.

I liked this track- was fitting to my personal experiences at the time. I didn't love the "keep it real" line, though.
I also have the DVD single.

This was so lifeless. I didn't like it at all.

I get why they released it, in the hopes of having another classic Whitney ballad out at radio. Something like "Tell Me No" or "Love That Man" would have been a better choice in hindsight. This isn't a bad song, but there's nothing special about it either.

Guess I'm in the minority. I actually think this is one of the highlights from the album. One of my faves from the album. I grew up with AC songs so I really don't mind this one. I could envision my dad enjoying this song.
This feels like something you would sing at a talent competition show like "America's Got Talent" or "American Idol".

I loved this the second I heard it. I’m a huge Whitney fan so I was extremely happy there was a ballad on “Just Whitney” which was similar to her older ones. I thought she sounded great on this track. Not much of a decline from the MLIYL album. For awhile “I’m gonna keep it real” line used to annoy me and thought it almost ruined the song. Boston pop and AC radio played this for a bit and I remember 2 female co workers of mine commenting this is the Whitney they wanted. Lol The clubs or at least the Gay clubs played the dance mix all the time. It always packed the floor with people singing along to it. On a sidenote I wondered if they had to doctor or smooth some her vocals on this cd, but read it took along time to record this cd because she kept canceling recording sessions. A producer of this this cd said when she was on some of the old magic came back. There’s also footage on line of her recording “You Light Up My Life and My Love” with Bobby and she sounds almost identical to the record. There’s also footage of her recording one of her Christmas songs that came out after this and she sounds just like the record. So no I don’t think her voice was altered. I just think her voice started to sound good for less and less time periods and that’s why this album took so long and was so expensive to make.
