First of all a number of people remember them for "Goodbye To You" which did not even come close to hitting the top 40. They have had a couple of follow-ups (to their hit "The Warrior") that were radio friendly such as "Hands Tied" & "Beat Of A Heart" both them hit the top 40 according R&R and Cashbox (srong competitors of BB). Of course R&R deals with radio only and Cashbox did both until they folded in I believe 1997.

I could go on and on about Patty Smyth and Scandal. She is my most favorite musician. Even though Scandal only had one major hit ("The Warrior" ), they were a staple of the first generation of MTV acts.
The first time I saw Patty Smyth and Scandal was on "Solid Gold" in 1982. I have been a fan ever since. I had found most of her odd recordings and videos. Even the rare auditon video that featured an unknown Jon Bon Jovi.
Simply a class act!

Scandal's "Goodbye To You" remains one of my alltime favorite songs... should've been a top 40 hit.

Weirdly enough both "Hands Tied" and "Beat Of A Heart" both peaked at #41 when released as singles back to back on the Hot 100 and only Bob Dylan had a similar episode back in the early 70's with two obscure hits called "WigWam" and "Watching The River Flow"

On the R&R chart, "Hands Tied" peaked at #38 in late 1984 and "Beat Of A Heart" hit #37 in March, 1985. Besides "The Warrior" and "Goodbye To You", they also had a low charter in the summer of 1983 called "Love's Got A Line On You", which got moderate airplay on WLS that year. That's probably my favorite of all five songs.

Patty Smyth turns 63 today. Nice to see other fans on Pulse.

"Goodbye to You" is a great kiss-off song, and "The Warrior" is also a fun '80s tune.

New song "Drive" coming July 24th. Most likely billed as Patty Smyth & Scandal. I will post in the Non-Singles thread next week as the date gets closer. This is probably her/their first new music in over 20 years, other than a holiday album in 2015. https://www.instagram.com/p/CCmOOebpqNq
