Even though I'm not a fan of much of his 1980s and early-1990s material, George Michael's Older is one of my all-time favorite albums. The CD features mostly downtempo songs, but some of the album's highlights are the danceable tunes. "Star People '97" was a funky reworking of the already-excellent album track "Star People." The new version borrowed from the Gap Band's early-1980s funk classic "Burn Rubber" and was really an amazing record. The beat is killer. I also like the song because it is basically a STFU to celebrities who complain about the difficulty of their lives in the spotlight. I'm glad somebody said it! UK #2 If you ask me, this album was his artistic peak. His music is really hit or miss, otherwise.

no comparison .. Listen without Prejudice is one of those GREAT albums that just will live on forever .. Older is a beautiful (yet WAYYY underrated) album that could have make someone's else a superstar but it was looked down upon because of LWP V.I's comparison

gotta admit tho... his styling during the promotion of this album was "superb"... loved all those "black on black on black" numbers he kept wearing.

i know... i kinda like the covers too... was wondering specifically which he found "horrible". seeing "older" with his now "somewhat wrinkled" face was brilliant, in my opinion.

The album version was good, but the remix was even better. Fun song.

I LOOOOOVE this song. Most countries got the 97' mix but his label released the album version in the US (which was a mistake tbh) I think this would have hit the Top 40 if the remix version was pushed here.
