Kims last single to score in America, this peaked at #41, making it her third biggest hit. It also hit #3 in the UK.
This is a great pop song. The singles from her 'Close' album were the best of her career. My favourite was the followup 'Never Trust A Stranger'. That deserved much better. File this, and that, under 'Underrated'.

I liked this song. I wonder how many radio stations were afraid to play it because of the title, though...

As usual, Aaron has his mind in the gutter (j/k)
I loved this song and was tracking its progress up the Hot 100. When it was #41, I was like, "Great, we'll be hearing it on AT40 the next week." You can imagine my surprise when I listened to AT40 the next week and didn't hear "You Came". Later that day, I went out to the mall and made a beeline for the record store, where they posted the Hot 100 and was ever so PO'ed that the song had slipped to #42. Oh well, that's the breaks. At least it was number one on my personal chart and one of the biggest songs of 1988.

was this the biggest hit off "close"? that album had sooooo many good songs. (stone, four-letter word, european soul, etc. etc.) totally underrated. :(

Yes it was. It made #3 in the UK and #41 in America. Never Trust A Stranger and Four Letter Word were also top ten UK hits (#7 and #6 respectively) and she had smaller chart entries with Hey Mister Heartache and Love In The Natural Way.

I really like this. Select is my favorite album from her, but this just might be my favorite single from her.

Even the US single remix didn't do the trick. Shep Pettibone usually turns his mixes to Gold!

I felt the very same way when Five Star stalled at #41 with "I Can't Wait Another Minute". I sooo wanted Casey Kasem to mention Five Star's name, now that was appalling!

I really like this. Select is my favorite album from her, but this just might be my favorite single from her. 5 years later, and this still holds true. Shep Pettibone did a great job with re-tinkering this. I think I remember hearing somewhere that her brother wrote this about this birth of his son, which definitely does fit the lyrics when you listen to them.

Incredible beauty! Loved her and a lot of her stuff, this is my favorite. Her harder rocking remake a few years back was great.

Shep Pettibone did a great job with re-tinkering this. I love what Shep did with his mix. It gives it a nice boost. So pretty. One of Kim's best songs.

Great pop song. Out of all the Kim Wilde songs I've heard this is one of my favorites for sure, along with "You Keep Me Hangin' On".
