It peaked at #9 on the pop chart in 1991. On the US Music Survey, Mark Wallengren mentioned it peaked at #9 on the AC chart. Here's a clip.

I think it was definitely one of Sting's better solo efforts. A lot of story packed into a 4 minute song.

It's ok but nothing I'd want to hear more than once or twice a year. I have never been a huge fan of Sting. "Desert Rose" and "Fields Of Gold" are the ones i can tolarate the most

This song was on "The Soul Cages" album. It was really the only "pop" song on the album. I'm pretty sure it was the only song on the album that charted on the Hot 100.
Doesn't get much airplay anymore, but it's a good song.
