This was a really huge song when it came out. Did anyone really like it? The few people I knew either liked it or hated it.
By the way, does anyone know where the version used in the video can be purchased? It's the one that has the rap by Left Eye on it. It's not on the album.

This is actually one of my least favorite singles from them. I never understood the hype at all.

The Rap Version can be purchased on TLC's "Now & Forever: The Hits"
FanMail went to #1 without a video! Just this hot single. Caliente.

Whatta JAM! I love the rap version. An Ashanti fan played this during one of my forum's Yahoo! voice chats, and we all JAMMED! Everyone said, "This is my song!" Caliente! The video was SUPA-caliente too! One of the best EVER. I loved how Chilli seductively moved her hands up and down that swing or whatever. HOT TAMALE! LOLOL@ the "broke a$$" gesture! I used to think they said, "And just sits on his big a$$"!

I remember this being huge... I liked it, I guess. Not really my kinda song... every other girl in my school was singing it all the time though.

My favorite TLC song. I don't think I've ever been tired of it, and I still play it all the time. In fact, this is the first song I remember being obsessed with. My parents bought me FanMail in 1999 and I was so disappointed Left Eye's rap wasn't on it. I ended up getting the import single later that year with the rap version.
EDIT - Actually, does anyone here actually know WHY the rap version wasn't included on FanMail? I always thought they should have re-pressed it with the rap version once the video became popular, especially since they had to re-press the album take out the Donna Summer sample from "I'm Good At Being Bad" anyways.

This was everywhere in 1999. Always played on the radio. The video was pretty cool. I remember most music videos, especially by the female acts, having a futuristic design thanks to Hype Williams. I remember the response record by Sporty Thievz, "No Pigeons". lol.
The rap version sounded like a remix to me. The original version and the album were already out for a month or two when the video surfaced. I was surprised to hear Left Eye's verse in the video.
Former Xscape members-turned-reality TV personalities Tiny and Kandi wrote the lyrics and sang backup vocals.

Not my favorite from Fanmail, but I like it. The version with Left Eye's rap, preferred.

What a great song. I love the line, "Hanging in the passenger side of his best friend's ride, tryna holler at me", it describes scrubs so perfectly lol!

Anybody remember the No Pigeons cover shortly after this release? Yeah, I actually thought it was kind of a fitting response to one dimensional female "empowerment" anthems like this. This isn't one of my top TLC singles, but it's definitely enjoyable. It's definitely a rank or two below Creep though on all levels.

I remember it being on reg rotation on V103. Greg Street used to play it right after the original version. lol

Not their best, however it's still enjoyable. To this day, I didn't like that the rap version never made the album.
