JAM! The video was great too! I remember expecting Mariah to look like a wreck since it was after her second hospitalization and 9/11. But she looked great! I liked the three Mariahs that sang in it too. I loved the part where the one wearing jeans laughs! "Too cute," as another Mariah fan said. ''Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica)" hit #42 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. However, it was a #1 smash on my chart. One of my friends tried to figure out the lyrics when it first came out and it was hilarious. ''Don't stop baby, it's...a...scene!" What did you think of this "Glitter" smash?

Love it love it love it. It was one of 4 songs from Glitter that topped my chart. This jam was way overlooked. Love mystikals rap but it did seem lik it was a Mystikal song with Mariah singing the hook

I liked the three Mariahs that sang in it too. That's basically every single Utada Hikaru music video! I don't get why she does that. Her dancing with the other "Utadas" is pretty off in the "Wait & See" vid. I hated "Don't Stop" because Mariah barely sung in it. I didn't even think it was her song.

Mystikal really turned me off this song but it eventually grew on me... it's pretty hot.

A guilty sort of pleasure. A complete flop in the UK too. #32.

It's aiight.
As previously noted, this song is more fitting to be Mystikal (Featuring Mariah Carey) and not the other way around. That fact alone is actually kind of depressing.

If you ask me this is one of the highlights in Mariah's short-lived stay Virgin.

It was fun, but should have never been released.

The story behind "Don't Stop" was fabricated as were many of the stories behind the Glitter tracks. In a parallel to the actual start of Mariah's career, her character Billie Frank is a backing singer for a popular New York club singer named Sylk. She becomes infuriated when the singer begins using Billie's vocals and taking the credit for them. Ghost-singers were of course popular practice in the 80's and early 90's with groups like Milli Vanilli, C+C Music Factory, and Black Box. While Billie is clubbing, the DJ spins the instrumental of Tom Browne's huge club hit "Funkin' For Jamaica". A mic is passed around as people rap over the beat. When Billie gets the mic, she proves her vocal talent in an attempt to break away from being Sylk's ghost-singer. The DJ is mesmerized and works side by side with Billie to make her a dance superstar, and so the story of Glitter.
For the soundtrack, Mariah updates Tom Browne's classic by replacing his original spontanenous rap lyrics with new verses by Mystikal. As was the case with many of the Glitter tracks, Mariah attempted to use her fame to bring attention to many of the early 80's New York club hits that she grew up with.

I thought it was pretty hot, actually...she's actually somehwat 'singing' at parts, and not whispering. It has a nice high energy and that was also the height of Mystikal's popularity, with his "WOOOOF!"s lol

The original = underrated funky little gem. MC's cover = pure overblown, over-produced, over-everything, dreck

I only liked it because Mystikal was big at the time. It's okay.

it felt a little half ass to me, least fave track off glitter
mariah's involvement was very mimimalistic and for her to feature mystikal, rather than be featured was pretentious to say the least.

It's not her best, but I like it. Mystikal makes me laugh.
