It's very likely that only British users of this board will know and remember this. But ten years ago (yes, ten years ago! - how time flies...) this went to become the second biggest hit ever of this condemned-to-doom British rock band. The best way to describe their sound is to say that they were an amalgam of everything that made just history in the grand British Rock tradition, be it raw punk rock (The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned, The Buzzcocks), no-frills hard rock/heavy metal (Motòrhead, UFO, Diamond Head, early Def Leppard), groovy classic rock n' roll (The Rolling Stones, Bad Company, Free, The Who) or just the right amount of that pop magic like only Cool Britannia can make (The Beatles, The Kinks, Badfinger, Elton John). All mixed up with a winning personality, lots of attitude and a swagger only Oasis would top. It seemed they had it all to crack open the world. But the endless line-up changes and the ever-growing ego and drug/alcohol consumption of frontman/lead singer/band mentor Ginger would take them on a downward spiral that lasted from 1992 until 1998, over the course they released three albums of original material and three more of left-overs that were released while the band was wasting away EMI's investment in them. To know that the "classic" line-up reunited three years ago and already released two albums (both of original material, mind you! ) in a small indie label called Gearhead is quite a feat, after such chaotic first time round. But if you guys really wanna know some more about them, check this All Music Guide overview or go to their official website and read this amusing bio. Either case, definitely enjoy yourselves.
