A low-charting Top 40 hit in the spring of 1991. It was pretty strange. There was a man talking about dance steps or something.

The song sampled "Dance Dance Dance" by Chic and "Kiss" by Art Of Noise. But there was something very familar about the "do do dodododo" parts. There was a song from the 1970s that had the "do's" in the same rhythm, but in a different tune. Anyone know what it was?

"Step left... around... and together with the right."
I love this song... AT40 used to edit out part of the second verse ("Show ya how to dance is like sex, start out dry and end up all wet...").

There was a man talking about dance steps or something. This was sampled from one of those records they made back in the olden days, that gave you audio instructions on how to dance various types of dances. In the album, they often came with little cardboard footprints so you could step in the right places at the right times. But there was something very familar about the ‘do do dodododo’ parts. There was a song from the 1970s that had the ‘dos’ in the same rhythm, but in a different tune. Anyone know what it was? "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)" by MFSB featuring The Three Degrees

AT40 also played an edited version of "The Bad Touch." The line "Rise an hour early just like Daylight Savings Time" was altered. I heard the same version on Dees so it might've been a clean version that was released to radio stations.

The song sampled " Dance Dance Dance" by Chic and "Kiss" by Art Of Noise.
Shadoe did something on how "Kiss" was sampled in two different Top 40 songs. One was "How To Dance," and I'm guessing that the other was "Two To Make It Right" by Seduction. It's been so long, I can't remember for sure.
BTW, I loved their follow-up that never charted called "Borrowed Love."

If you're talking about "Two To Make It Right", yeah it was the single version that sampled "Kiss". The album version was completely different (I like the single version much better).

This was played a lot on B96 back in 1991. I also heard this as a 90s old school cut on defunct Energy 92.7/92.5 in the early 2000s. I liked it though it's not my all-time favorite among all those early 90s dance cuts that were out at the time. Also, I didn't know they had a follow-up single as I assumed that they were one and done as were the case with many of those 90s dance acts.

This is a really fun, guilty pleasure type of song.
