Really good song from last year...
#12 CHR/Pop, #15 Hot 100... & this only got minimal Urban airplay...
I also liked her followup "Take You Home"...

This was really good and I was surprised that it did as well as it did. It would have done better if Hot 97 wasn't the only NYC station playing it.

I use to like this song, but it got really annoying after a few months. I haven't heard it in a few years.

I always wondered who sang this. Anyone know anything else about her?
I used to hear this on the radio constantly
If I can go contigo I'll pack my things soon as you say baby vamos we'll fly away...

I always wondered who sang this. Anyone know anything else about her? She's a on-air personality in New York (Hot 97?). She was on "Not Tonight" with Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Left Eye and Da Brat. Seems like I'm missing somebody else from that list. Anyhow, it took me a minute to get into IICG, but I like it and wouldn't mind hearing it now.

JAM! I loved both the song and the video. It was one of my songs of the summer in 2K2! What did you think of it? I heard it got a lot of airplay on ALL NYC stations, since Angie was from Hot 97!Β The rival stations wanted to support their home girl! :) :) Is that true? And if there is an earlier topic, reception, please refer me to it, since I couldn't find one.

This tune was originally called GO!(Muthaf#@%a) reached #15 in 2002 but just about killed her street cred in the industry

I can't remember the names of New York's two hip-hop stations, but at the time, Angie worked at one, and consequently, the other one refused to play this song.

Never liked this. Though, "Dem Thangs (feat Q-Tip)" was definitely a jam.

Same thing happened to Rick Dees with "Disco Duck" in Memphis 30 years ago.

I can't remember the names of New York's two hip-hop stations, but at the time, Angie worked at one, and consequently, the other one refused to play this song. Angie worked for CHR-Rhythmic WQHT (Hot 97), owned by Emmis. Since the song only peaked at Number 47 on Urban, Urban WWPR (Power 105, owned by Clear Channel, and WQHT's competitor) wasn't the only Urban station not playing it. What I was mad about is that CHR-Pop WHTZ (Z100) didn't play it despite it peaking at Number 12 on that format. Yesterday I heard "If I Could Go!" for the first time in a long time on an XM station I listen to for free on AOL Radio.

As a rule, think DJ's should stick to their day job, but this and Dem Things were OK

It was a Number 1 for me when I made a chart. It should be credited to Angie Martinez featuring Lil' Mo and Sacario. Urban didn't play it unfortunately. It peaked at Number 47 on R&R Urban.

I was obsessed with this 10 years ago. Just listened to the song again and...I'm not sure why I liked this so much. It's alright.

Yeah...there's no reason for this to have had FOUR open threads, LOL. (How did that never get noticed...?)
Anyways, this randomly popped up on my FB feed, so I decided to give it a listen since I feel like I haven't heard this since it was a hit. And actually it still sounds as good now as it did then.
