I've gotten to thinking that the people who see MCIS as the greatest album ever couldn't have been too far off when considering how strong its b-sides were. This track, a "Thirty-Three" b-side, was one of my absolute favorites. It gets a little over-the-top, but in a good way. The spoken dialogue/sample thing kicks ass and makes it even cooler than it already is. I really like the length, at 8:32 or something like that.

I found the box set not so long ago on ebay. lots of great stuff on those singles. I like their interesting choices of cover versions.
I have Smashed Potatoes, tho the quality isn't that great thru most of it. Do you know what album their version of Never Let Me Down Again is on? They do a good cover of mid 70s smash "Jackie Blue" by Ozark Mountain Daredevils that I lucked out and found years ago on a comp that's apparently pretty hard to find now.

The "Never Let Me Down Again" cover was originally on the "Rocket" single, if you can ever find it anywhere. A few years later it resurfaced on the DM tribute album and then another few laters was used for the soundtrack of Not Another Teen Movie.
Oh, I love Mashed Potatoes. How could songs like "C'Mon" and "365" be scrapped for an album? By the way, I think like half of those songs (probably a lot more) are live tracks on that album, which is really a bootleg.

... which is really a bootleg. shhhhhhh... unofficial release lol ;) I think Billy Corgan pretty much sanctions these releases around the SP community. agreed about 365 and c'mon.

The box set was amazing. I had already purchased all the import singles, so I had everything, besides the covers they threw onto the Bullet With Butterfly Wings disc. But the packaging was great, the songs were incredible and is probably one of the most cherished items in my collection. Many of the tracks contained in this set are my most favorite Pumpkins songs from their career. But anytime I try to compile my favorite Pumpkins tracks, it always ends up being some ridiculous amount, like 70. But my favorite of all time is Set The Ray To Jerry. SOOOOOOO good. I was really glad they stuck that on the bonus disc for the greatest hits. Aeroplane was on there too!
Peace, Ben
