Initally, I didn't have faith in this song as a single but the lyrics and melody really grew on me. It's a mature single and it will forever remind me of summer 2002.
"Just An Old Boyfriend" should've been a bigger hit than it was.
Fave line: "There's no doubt that I should be OK by now/But I'm not there yet/ It hurts me so bad but..."
The lyrics hit home. :'(

I thought it was horrible the first time I heard it. It was the most boring song of hers I had heard until then. I think it was a B-side to "Tu Amor." Then it grew on me.
As you said, it will remind me of summer '02 for the rest of my life. I loved staying up until 2 A.M. Eastern time and listening to WBLI live on the net in order to hear Kaci's airplay every night. And IMing WendelaBLI! That was so fun. Lots of memories.
All in all, it was a JAM that will forever be remembered as a SMASH.

I found all my Kaci banners I saved on my old computer today! I like the 2:47 where that groaning "Ah-nooo" sounds like a creepy guy but I think it's just Kaci.    What a summer smash! 94x on KFFM :o! All demos -- even MEN -- were reacting to JAOB. SMASH SMASH SMASH! |
