This song was originally recorded by Maria McKee for the "Days Of Thunder" soundtrack, she took her version to number one in the UK. Laura Branigan also recorded a version, it appears on her "Best Of Branigan" retrospective.
Tina Arena released it as the followup to her pop hit "Chains" in the USA. It sadly stalled outside the top 40, peaking at #47 on the CHR pop charts, though it managed four weeks in the charts.
I like her version, Maria McKee's is the best but Tina has a great voice and her arrangement of it was pretty nice. I prefer the other singles from the Dont Ask album though. "Sorrento Moon" in particular is gorgeous.
I'm not fond at all of Laura Branigans version. She changes some of the lyrics and does that annoying screaming thing she used to do. See also her cover of "The Power Of Love".

Strange, considering that "Days Of Thunder" was an office-box smash.
