It makes me absolutely sick that this pop gem was overlooked in Europe. "True To Yourself" was the 2nd single from Vanessa Amorosi's sophomore album "Change" (album released only in Europe; scrapped in Australia after the debut single "SPIN" underperformed). "True To Yourself" flopped worse than the lead European single "One Thing Leads 2 Another." I love the lyrics and melody of "True To Yourself." She performed it on one of the biggest shows in Germany yet the one (or two) track single entered the charts in the lower end. Shortly after, she parted ways with her European label. I read Vanessa was working on a new album for Australia. I somehow doubt it'll be released. I remember raving about "True To Yourself" at R&R and I still stand by my words. Vanessa Amorosi crafted a fantastic pop tune and I can't wait to pick up a used copy of "Change"!!! audio link

I haven't heard that song, and it's sad that she's not with her European label anymore.
But what about that song, "Take Me As I Am". I think that's her best song yet. I hadn't heard it until Casey on Austn Idol sung it, and it just blew me away! The lyrics, the melody, it's a song with attitude! I even thought that was Casey's best performance on the show. Vanessa sings it well, too. It might as well have been Xtina or Whitney or one of those powerhouses singing it.
