Anybody else around here remember this? It's gotta be one of the all-time greatest southern rock tunes. I've heard it millions of times and I never get tired of it. My preference is for the studio version from the same-named album. There's an excellent extended version on the live album 'Waiting For Columbus'.
Little Feat had a number of superb albums. Lowell George (one of the true masters of the slide guitar) was the most creative talent in the group. His exit in '78 followed by a deadly heart attack in '79 was a terrible blow to the band. They reformed in the late 80s, but without George it just wasn't the same.

I have to give you credit for pulling stuff like this out of the hat, I doubt you'll get many replies, but its nice to see relatively obscure stuff like this get a mention. I wasn't a fan of Little Feat, this style of music reminds me of Grateful Dead which I loathe, and I barely remember this song, but it had a nice piano riff in it somewhere.
They never got much play in the New York area for whatever reason. I like the beginning of the song Down On The Farm I think it is, where theres a frog ribbeting and I guess its Lowell George telling it to shut up before the song begins.

The Dixie Chicks got their name from this song (figured someone should point that out in this thread). :)

Garth Brooks did a great cover of this song and I was hoping he would release it as a single but he didn't. It's a fun song.
