The last of the singles from the first album, not as good as "Blind" but still real good. I don't think there's ever been a KoRn single on more crack, although some album cuts from Life Is Peachy are kinda close. I don't think that if I heard this, that I'd ever imagine a heavy band as them making a song completely out of nursery rhymes, but it's all good. Their first album did build a loyal fan base, although apparently they are currently alienating their casual fan base.
Who else remembers/likes this?

I think this is a pretty quirky single. I liked how they incorporated those nursery rhymes into the songs. I really liked it. I think all the singles from their first album weren't too bad. There was "Blind", this, and some other song which I recently saw the video for. I don't think I'm forgetting anything, am I?
I think this peaked at #49 on Alternative. I don't know Rock or Active Rock stats, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went top 20 on Active Rock.

I believe this was the second single, in late '95/early '96, with "Clown" being the last single (and video that insect2 just saw). A grainy performance video for "Faget" was included on their home video, Who Then Now?, but I'm not sure that qualifies it for "official single" status.
I love "Shoots and Ladders".
And they didn't "go wrong," they're, befuddlingly, just not taking any steps whatsoever to let casual radio listeners/fans know how good of an album they've made. Since it'll never get any airplay on MTV, I recommend everybody with even a remote interest in Korn to go to launch.com and watch their video for "Y'all Want a Single." So far it's the 2nd best video of the year (I'm biased by "Silver and Cold"), and it puts the song in a whole different perspective. That doesn't make it a good song, mind you, it just shows that it was coming from a really good place when they wrote/recorded it.
