This song became the most unlikely smash hit single of 2001. In the wake of 9/11 the soothing track charged into the top ten of the hot 100, and Pop top 20. BUt wasn't it already on the pop charts beforehand?
Sometimes a great song really can defy the odds. I bet pop never charts Enya again though, sadly.....

But wasn't it already on the pop charts beforehand? Yeah, the song was sort of dogpaddling on the CHR/Pop chart for a month or two before, but the song really took off after the 9/11 attacks. The song had been on the A/C chart for at least six months before, but after the attacks, the song went to #1, breaking the record for the slowest climb to #1 (which had been set just weeks before by Matchbox Twenty's hit "If You're Gone")
