This was a great song from her debut album.
To this day, Anita never showed this vocal range again.
She tore this up! Definitely one her finest moments.
It also appears on "The Best Of" collection that Rhino put out for her a few years ago.

Excellent song. This and "You're The Best Thing Yet" were both tragically underrated. They should have both been nearly as big as "Angel" was for her. "No More Tears" is my least favorite of the three though. Anita has never put out a single that I don't love.

The entire Songstress album was great and was full of underrated songs: "You're The Best Thing Yet," "Feel The Need," "Will You Be Mine," etc. While this is certainly an excellent song, I think she gave better performances on some of the other tracks on that LP...
(BTW, I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed with the latest album...)

Peaked at #49 R&B in 1983. I prefer "Angel" and "You're The Best Thing Yet," but I like it. The Songstress album is great.

Don't like it at all.

I like it, but I much prefer her later singles over it.
