This was a #1 hit for Miki Howard in 1989. It's definitely my favorite upbeat song by her and possibly my favorite overall. Unfortunately, her material kind of went downhill and she didn't have as strong of a career as she deserved. She had another #1 hit in 1992 (also her only Hot 100 hit) with "Ain't Nobody Like You," but that's not a favorite of mine, although it's not that bad.

I don't know this one. I loved "Ain't Nobody Like You" though.
She kind of went the Regina Belle route. She's still around, but just very low key these days.

My favorite song by Miki Howard is "Love Under New Managment." That was my f'ing song. She gave a GREAT vocal performance.
She has always reminded me of Betty Wright ("No Pain, Gain").
I like Miki's jazz related stuff.

This is #1 hard to find and second there was amazingly a number one R&B without a video clip. There were a few others that hit number one during the 1989 - 1992 era without a video (on the R&B charts) such as "Where Do Go From Here" by Stacy Lattisaw & Johnny Gill, "Not Gonna Change The World" by Phyliss Hyman, "Closer Than Friends" by Surface, and "Girl I Got My Eyes On You" by Today.

I like it, but I prefer a few others from her.

I like it. It's a catchy little bop.
