Hello, everyone. Sorry I've taken so long to get back to this feature, but I've been busy and, in the process, forgot all about it. At first, I was considering just starting this week, but then that would sort of screw up the continuity of everything, so I'll just pick up where I left off, which was at the end of March. Anyway, this week, we go back to the year that Loverboy predicted that This Could Be The Night, and Sly Fox agreed by saying Let's Go All The Way. But not everyone was happy. Van Halen were demanding Why Can't This Be Love, while Mr. Mister wondered Is It Love. Jermaine Jackson said I Think It's Love, but sister Janet didn't think so because What Have You Done For Me Lately? Yes, it was 1986 and this is the chart for April 4, 1986:

And now, here is the fourth CHR Flashback for the month of April. It's from the year that John Lennon was Watching The Wheels of the Morning Train that Sheena Easton's baby would take everyday because he loved Being With You like Smokey Robinson. And when he said I Love You, as the Climax Blues Band did, the Who said You Better You Bet. I mean, after all, A Woman Needs Love, Just Like You Do, as said by Ray Parker jr. and Raydio. Indeed, it's the year 1981 and here is the chart from April 24, 1981:
LC TC wc SONG/ARTIST 01 01 10 Just The Two Of Us/Grover Washington jr f/Bill Withers 05 02 08 Being With You/Smokey Robinson 03 03 11 Morning Train (Nine To Five)/Sheena Easton 06 04 08 Her Town Too/James Taylor w/J.D. Is the mystery song "Save Some Love"?
That 1991 chart was roughly a month after my local station dropped the Rick Dees show on Saturdays in favor of their own (useless) local countdown. From that point forward, I had to choose between AT40, Casey's Top 40, or Rick Dees as they all now aired Sundays at the same time. I chose AT40, and later regretted it. I lost track of R&R's pop chart until the summer of 1994.

Is the mystery song "Save Some Love"? Yes it is. The artist is Keedy. It was her only Top 40 hit and I believe it peaked at #11. You should have taped one of the shows that used the R&R chart (Casey's Top 40 would have been the best because 1991 was about when Rick started skipping songs on the chart to play an extra) while listening to AT40, or vice versa. That's what I always did when two countdown shows that I liked aired at the same time.

Question: Does anyone have a list of 1992 Flashbacks that I've done (both on the R&R boards and here on the Pulse Boards)? I know I did a late April chart, an early July chart and one from August, but anything else?

That's what I always did when two countdown shows that I liked aired at the same time. I was surprised to have guessed the mystery song so fast, but I always associated that song with the Triplets song (maybe because they were both one-hit wonders who charted so close together?) and when I saw that song present I knew what was missing. I always considered it too time-consuming to try and tape entire countdown shows and listen later, especially back in the days when 45-minutes per side was the maximum for a cassette tape. I would occasionally do this when Rick Dees aired a "special" (I'd tape Casey instead) but I gave it up once the "3 shows at once" era began.

^I was able to find a few 120-minute blank tapes back in the '90s but I don't believe they sell them any more. I've tried Amazon but the longest I can find these days is 90 min total.
