This was created partly so that Sleepytime and I can continue our chat about Carole King in a Carole King thread, lol. But it was also created because this is one of the best albums of all time and if you don't have it, you need to get it. I picked it up one day, expecting to hear songs I couldn't relate to or that were boring, but what I heard changed me in many ways. This is an extraordinary album, with every song a classic. Her voice may be thin, but that's part of her charm and what draws you into her songs. These songs and others that she wrote have become a part of our consciousness. They are the songs that you're not aware somebody actually wrote all of these, they just exist and will always exist; they're that good.

It's probably one of my favorite albums ever. "It's Too Late" is so overplayed at AC radio but every time I hear it when I'm changing the dial, I have to leave it on.

I believe the title track is my favorite. I just love the lyrics. This album is truly timeless... too bad I lost my copy! :(

Not an album I would necessarily take time out of my day to listen to (even though I own it), but you can definitely feel its impact in the near four decades since its release. Arguably the most important "female" album of all time.

Yeah, it really is amazing how well this has held up. It's not hard to understand why it gets the respect it does, even though it would not be on my daily listening list either. "So Far Away" does not burn on me at all. I have to say, the slowed-down take on "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" is not my favorite arrangement, though.

I don't listen to the album in full much, but it's a great album and so many of the individual tracks are absolute classics that I do listen to a lot.

Easily one of my favorite albums of all time. I still listen to it on a semi-regular basis. This album really set the stage for so many artists that followed. I had a chance to see her live on her "Living Room" tour a few years ago and it's one of the best concerts I've ever been too. It's amazing how many songs she's written, and the wide catalogue of artists who have recorded her material.
