This was the third single from "Secret Samadhi", the band's third album. Unlike much of the rest of the album, which features dark, harder rock in comparison to "Throwing Copper", yet also great breaks of silence against Ed's eerie verse vocals, "Turn My Head" was a ballad with rhythms running through.
This, in my opinion, should have been the "Lightning Crashes" of "Secret Samadhi", being that it was the only real radio-friendly track for mainstream radio off the album.
After "Lakini's Juice" and "Rattlesnake" earned Alternative play, "Turn My Head" was released but failed to ever pick up in any big way. The album would eventually fall from the bottom at about triple platinum status, failing to capitalize on the success of "Throwing Copper".
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This is the worst Live song I've heard. SO BORING! I'd have to say their "V" era is Live's worst, with "Simple Creed" their worst single to date. I thought "Deep Enough" was a single from V. There was a "hip-hop" remix tacked onto the end of the album, at least.

It probably got a very limited release however. www.friendsoflive.com/If you go here, you can read all about the 10th Anniversary of "Throwing Copper", including a memory shared from the band about almost dying from carbon monoxide poisoning on their first tour and how they named their tour bus "Evil" (it is "Live" spelt backwards) because of that. I liked "Turn My Head". I much prefer this to "Heaven" or any of the other singles from the past two albums. Actually, right now, looking at that singles list, I'm wondering why I never picked up Secret Samadhi.

********Mental Jewelry************ (I'm not sure if any singles were released off here) 'Operation Spirit' and 'Pain Lies On The Riverside' both charted. 'All Over You' wasn't a single? Wow...it went top 5 on alternative and is still the most played Live song on WBTZ. 'Freaks' was the second single and went top 20. From what I remember, they held off on releasing 'Turn My Head' so it would coincide with their tour dates.

On the other hand, I never heard "White, Discussion" on the radio. I always liked "Turn My Head" a lot...one of my favorite Live songs. I also think it should've gone to Pop.

"Turn My Head" was worked to Pop. It just never took off.

Yeah, that sounds right. "Rattlesnake" was the 4th single then? I do remember "Freaks". That is quite a creepy song! LOL! I could have sworn "Rattlesnake" was released after "Lakini's Juice", but it definitely was a single. "Graze" also got airplay, though I'm not sure if it was ever a single. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Actually, for an added note, "Ghost" was never a single but a video was shot for that track! :)

If I remember right, Freaks peaked at #10
All Over You made it to #2 or #3
Turn My Head also went top 5 if I'm correct.
White, Discussion and Lakini's Juice are my personal favorites from Live
The video for Lakini's Juice is weird.

I thought "Heaven" barely missed the Top 30 and peaked at #31 on Alternative!? The rest of those sound right overall, though I think "Simple Creed" peaked at #14. I also know "Selling The Drama" went #1, "I Alone" peaked at #6. Now we just need "They Stood Up For Love" and "Transmit Your Love" information, and, though they were never released as singles, airplay data for "Iris" and "Graze") Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Huge Alternative Hit in 1997. Top 30 Hot AC, never understood why this never took off on CHR\Pop.

Probably my favorite of their singles, or at LEAST in the top 3.

This is a great song, though I like Lakini's Juice a bit more though.
Unfortunately this rest of the album besides those two is a bit of a let down.
