This is a beautiful, haunting song. It's almost scary to hear how bad her voice was from the drugs. It's like hearing a corpse sing or something. That's also what makes it interesting really. This was released from 1958's "Lady In Satin" album, which was released one year before her tragic death.

Yeah, she got pretty bad there toward the end. I haven't listened to this particular song in many years, but I've always loved Billie Holiday. I suppose my favorite would be one of her most famous: the anti-lynching Strange Fruit.
