An extremly under-rated song that was released here in the US not once but twice without being a real hit. John Farnham was part of the Little River Band in the 1980s up until his initial interbational smash mentioned here which is his only hit.
#1 Austrailia #6 UK #82 US

The original version of "You're The Voice" didn't make my chart in either 1986 or 1990.
However, the version by Heart reached #9 in 1991. I enjoyed their cover much better.

John Farnham was part of the Little River Band in the 1980s Interesting, never knew that. I really liked this song and am shocked it did so poorly in the US. I do remember hearing it lots here in Canada.

I am a huge, huge , huge Farnham fan!!!!! He sang The Other Guy, and We Too as well as some more hits for LRB. This guy is amazing as I have most of his albums. I had to special order them from Australia. The album this song is on is the biggest selling album in Australian history( or was for a very long time). He is touring for the last time( or so he says) right now over there. If you can get your hands on any of his stuff it is definitely pop at it's purest form so if you like the lighter kind of music then you would love him. His voice ( he is called THE VOICE over there) is unbelievable even now in his older age. I have always wondered if there were anymore fans in the U.S.. If anyone wants any of his music just let me know!!!
