I love this pop song. It is not often that a french song becomes a worldwide smash, but this one achieved this feat! Still good today, but sounds a little dated with those raw synths. It was the only hit from Desireless. Anyone remembers the singers weird hairdo?

They had to remix (PWL Remix) the song in order for it to climb into the UK top 5. It was so popular worldwide besides the US that a Mexican band named Magento (sp?) remade the song, however with different lyrics from the original (to my understanding) even when translated. And yes the hairdo was not unusual to even when Jane Child had a simular one as well. I remember her follow-up single "John" getting some airplay across Europe.

I discovered this via Bananarama and Kate Ryan's covers. I actually love Kate Ryan's version the most. In terms of the original, I like the original Euro version more than the PWL version. I am find of SAW and PWL associated stuff, but the Euro one just has more oomph.

Bananarama did a cover of this?? I didn’t know that. They covered it in 2009 for their album Viva. The album was supposed to be all covers however they changed the concept during the recording sessions. Several of the songs that didn't make the final track listing of the album were issued on the digital version.
